As a Financial Services Professional¹, I am passionate about helping people and empowering them through education. I help clients take control and have a more active role in their financial life. It is ultimately my clients that are makers of their own destinies. It is my responsibility to show my clients what their choices are, act as a sounding board, and help them make decisions that will better their lives. I work primarily with three groups: Families: Life is unpredictable. I help families make sure that everyone will be ok no matter what happens. We work together to make sure this is done in the most effective manner possible, utilizing each dollar efficiently (as there is only so much money to go around). Pre-retirees: There have been a lot of changes that impact retirement planning over the past several decades and will continue to be even more in the future. Some of these changes include longevity, taxes², laws², health care changes³ and Social Security. I work with pre-retirees to evaluate the strategy they have in place and make sure it continues to meet their needs in the current environment. My goal is to help my clients have the freedom and confidence to enjoy retirement. Business Owners: I help business owners plan for the future and work with them to maximize their opportunities while they are active in the business. I can help with employee retention. I also protect the business owner from unexpected changes to their industry, health, or family. I help them develop a retirement plan that will allow them to retire no matter what the future may bring for their industry. No matter whom I'm working with, the first meeting will simply be to get to know the client. After we put a strategy in place, we will continue to meet at least annually to review the strategy because life is always changing. I am committed to the long-term, both in terms of strategizing and client relationships. Jonathan Teves
Jonathan Teves, a lifelong resident of the New Bedford area, is a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual, and has been with the company since 2006. Jonathan does financial planning for business owners and professionals in order to help create financial security for their families and businesses. Jonathan focuses on building life-long relationships in order to understand his clients, and to take a holistic approach to their individual planning needs. Jonathan graduated from New Bedford High School in 1997. After 7 years of touring as a musician, Jonathan graduated from UMass Dartmouth’s Charlton College of Business and currently lives in Acushnet, MA with his wife, Sara, and their two children. Jonathan is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and enjoys spending time speaking to students at several colleges and universities in MA and RI. In the community, Jonathan is the Treasurer of the South Coast Business Alliance, and has been with the SCBA since 2007. Working with the SCBA has been an opportunity to make new connections with other professionals and give back to the community in which he lives and works. He believes the preservation of the underlying culture and history of South Coast Massachusetts is a vital component to its ability to once again reach its tremendous potential. Supporting the youth in the community, through a financial and a hands-on approach, is the first step in the process. Through the work he does as an advisor and through the work he does with the SCBA, Jonathan’s mission is to impact the community in a positive way for multiple generations.
